HISTORY
Our Story

The Ministry of Youth Development was created in April 2012. Prior to its creation, it was domiciled in the Ministry of Youths, Conflict Resolution and Employment Generation for the duration of four (4) years and subsequently had a merger with Sports for a period of three (3) years.

In 2020 the Ministry of Youth Development was merged with the Ministry of Sports Development by His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, The Governor of Bayelsa State. It was renamed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

On June 21, 2024, The Ministry was re-established as the Ministry of Youth Development, and Mr. Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha was sworn in as the 7th Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth Development.
